Wizard of Oz

We're Off to See the Wizard, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!

The Key Stage 2 children have been working very hard for the past two months practising for their production of the Wizard of Oz. Every pupil in P5, P6 and P7 has played an important part in making our musical a roaring success.

The children's hard work was showcased on the week running up to the Easter holidays, with four performances, including a full dress rehearsal for the children in P1-P4.  We performed to a good sized audience for the matinee on the Tuesday and a full house on the Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

The development of team work amongst the children and the progress of individual children in the roles they had to play, was very encouraging for the teaching staff to see.  We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the children for all the hard work which they put in over the last couple of months.  All of the children have played an important role and should be proud of their acheivements.

The bi-annual show is a much valued part of Eden Primary School and this year was no exception.  To have had the opportunity to witness children's confidence and self-esteem improving through each rehearsal is rewarding and a result of the work from dedicated staff, to promote the children as holistic beings.

The staff in Eden Primary School would like to thank all of the parents who have helped make this show a success.  Thanks to those who built scenery and supplied props and for those who were very willing to make costumes to an exceptionally high standard.  A final thanks to all those who helped children with learning lines and listened to endless renditions of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' and 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead'.   Thank you for supporting the children and attending their performances.
