Viking Day

On Wednesday our assembly hall was transformed into a fabulous Viking activity centre.  The children came to school dressed as Vikings and were excited by all the activities they encountered.  Children were able to grind wheat to make flour, have a go at making fire using flint (which was very tricky), weave, make bracelets, build walls, play games, learn about weapons and Viking objects.  The children also had the opportunity to take part in sword drill and were able to create their own spears.  The children really enjoyed this day and were able to have a practical experience of Viking objects.  The children said about how much fun they had had at the  end of the day and would recommend it for next year's P6 class.  Here are just a few photos of the day:
