P6 Roman Day

On Wednesday 25th March, primary six arrived to school in style for our Roman Day.  We dressed in our finest Roman clothes, fit for emperors and goddesses.  Our taste buds tingled as we tried lots of Roman foods, including tomatoes, grapes, olives, mackerel, pitta bread and honey.  We then rated what we liked and disliked.  We took part in lots of different activities. Our favourites were playing Roman numeral snap and digging for artefacts in an archaeological dig.  Miss Mullen gave us our marching orders in the playground, when we marched in lines and 'tortoise' formation like Roman soldiers.  In groups we worked hard to create legion banners.  We used Latin words to name our own legions.  It was a great day!
