CONGRATULATIONS To Mrs McNair and the choir for all their hard work and great results at the recent Festival. We were of course, delighted as the Choir won the Lowry Trophy for the Most Outstanding Choir performance – many congratulations!! We also thank all the children who participated and congratulate them for their achievements in Verse Speaking and Singing. Thank you also to the teachers and teaching assistants for all their efforts in teaching the children. We also appreciate those parents who helped with lifts to and from the various venues.

SCHOOL FAIR – FRIDAY 3rd JUNE 2016 – 6.00 P.M. – 8.00 P.M. Separate notes have been issued regarding this event. Please remember to keep the date free for a great family evening. Unfortunately, the Kite flyer had a printing error, the cost for these is £5 NOT £4. These will be available to purchase at the Fair.

BREAKFAST CLUB Please note that admittance into the breakfast club must be no later than 8.20 a.m. so that all children can have time to eat and be in the school line on time. Thank you.

SCHOOL TRIPS As you are aware there are many class trips and visits taking place over the next few weeks. Can I please remind all parents that permission slips are required for all trips and these must be returned together with the money (if applicable) to your child’s teacher on the date advised on the various letters. Money and slips should not be left at the office but go with your child to the relevant teacher in a sealed envelope. This procedure allows for easy management of numbers when all slips are in the relevant classes. Thank you for your continued support with this.

P6/P7 SCHOOL TOUR TO EDINBURGH The School Tour leaves on Monday 6th June at 6.00 a.m. from Supervalu car park to board the Stena Superfast Ferry at Belfast, then making the journey on to Edinburgh. THANKYOU Class Trip Helpers - Our thanks to those parents who participated in class trips, it is very much appreciated as trips could not take place without parental help. Bouncy Castles - My thanks to Mr & Mrs Finn for the support and generosity with the bouncy castles etc. Treasure Hunt – My thanks to Mr & Mrs Stewart for preparing the very enjoyable Treasure Hunt.

P.T.A. Again another busy year for the P.T.A. My thanks to them for their excellent fundraising efforts. P.T.A. fundraising has helped us to purchase this year: new rewards for children’s sticker charts (£1,300), contribution towards buses for the Opera House (£1,200), transport for our school visit to Carrickfergus pantomime (£500), resources, including a computer system for the school library (£1,300) and subsidies for various class outings (£1,000).

GARDENERS Mr Mark Diamond has helped maintain the plants etc around the school grounds over the past few years. This has been greatly appreciated and certainly adds to the appearance of the School. It would be great if we had another few volunteers to help with this role, so if you have green fingers, enjoy gardening and have a wee bit of spare time we would be very grateful for your help!

SAVINGS Please note savings have stopped for the school year and will restart on Monday 12th September 2016.

HOLIDAY DATE CARD 2016/2017 Once again I have organised the printing of a holiday date card detailing all school holidays for 2016/2017. These cards will shortly be issued to all families and this should help for the planning of holidays outside of term time.
