AFTER SCHOOL CLUBSAll Clubs finished on Friday 29thMay 2015 with the exception of Monkeynastix which will finish on Monday 1stJune 2015.   A note will be sent in September detailing Clubs available for next year.  Thank you for your support.

CONGRATULATIONS      To Mrs McNair and the choir for all their hard work and great results at the recent Festival.  We also thank all the children who participated and congratulate them for their achievements in Verse Speaking and Singing.  Thank you also to the teachers and teaching assistants for all their efforts in teaching the children.  We also appreciate those parents who helped with lifts to and from the various venues.

NEPAL APPEAL – WACKY HAIR DAY                       Thank you to all who supported this very worthwhile event, we raised £573.54 which has already been sent via the Stand By Me Charity to this Appeal.  A wonderful achievement and wonderful effort by the children and indeed you as parents.

MARATHON – MARIE CURIE   Again a huge thank you to all who supported the two teams from the school who took part in the Marathon on Monday 4thMay 2015.  The grand total of £665.50 has been sent to Marie Curie.  Congratulation on their achievements.

SCHOOL FAIR – FRIDAY 5THJUNE 2015 – 6.00 P.M. – 8.00 P.M.    Separate notes have been issued regarding this event.  Please remember to keep the date free for a great family evening.

BREAKFAST CLUB          Please note that admittance into the breakfast club must be no later than 8.20 a.m. so that all children can have time to eat and be in the school line on time.  Thank you.

ATTENDANCE/EARLY ARRIVAL IN THE PLAYGROUND                      As you are aware the school bell rings each morning at 8.45 a.m. and lessons begin at 9.00 a.m. sharp and I believe it is an important part of school life to be in the class line and walk to the various classes with the class teacher.  I have noticed there are a continued number of children who are arriving after 9.00 a.m.  I would ask that children be in school ready to begin lessons at 9.00 a.m.   I would further point out that lateness does affect your child’s overall attendance mark.  I would also ask that no children are left in the playground before 8.30 a.m.  If you do have to leave your child off early, please avail of the Breakfast Club facilities.

SCHOOL TRIPS      As you are aware there are many class trips and visits taking place over the next few weeks.  Can I please remind all parents that permission slips are required for all trips and these must be returned together with the money (if applicable) to your child’s teacher on the date advised on the various letters.  Money and slips should not be left at the office but go with your child to the relevant teacher in a sealed envelope. This procedure allows for easy management of numbers when all slips are in the relevant classes.  Thank you for your continued support with this.

P6/P7 SCHOOL TOUR TO NEWCASTLE                     The School Tour leaves on Monday 1st  June at 6.00 a.m. from Supervalu car park to board the Stena Superfast Ferry at Belfast, then making the journey on to Newcastle.   Mrs McCallister, Mrs Newell and Mr Purdy together with 34 children, look forward to an excellent trip.

PRIMARY 7             We wish all our Primary 7 pupils well as they leave us to take up the next stage of their education.  The last day of attendance for Primary 7 pupils will be Wednesday 24thJune 2015.  They will receive a separate note giving details of events taking place on this date.

P1 INTAKE  We are holding our P1 Intake Afternoon on Wednesday 17thJune at 1.30 p.m. and we look forward to welcoming 30 children into this class in September.  The current Primary 1 class will be going home at 1.00 p.m. on this date.  A separate note will be issued regarding this.

THANKYOU              Class Trip Helpers - Our thanks to those parents who participated in class trips, it is very much appreciated as trips could not take place without parental help.  My thanks also to the Library Volunteers - once again we appreciate the weekly commitment of these parents in providing an excellent library service for the children.  We are always looking for more volunteers!   Bouncy Castles - My thanks to Mr & Mrs Finn for the support and generosity with the bouncy castles etc.  Treasure Hunt – My thanks to Mr & Mrs Stewart preparing our forthcoming Treasure Hunt.

P.T.A.  Again another busy year for the P.T.A.  My thanks to them for their excellent fundraising efforts.

HOLIDAY DATE CARD 2015/2016         Once again I have organised the printing of a holiday date card detailing all school holidays for 2015/2016.  These cards will shortly be issued to all families and this should help for the planning of holidays outside of term time.
