Wacky Hair Day!!

On Friday 15th May, we had a Wacky Hair Day to raise money for the people in Nepal, following the devastating earthquake which hit the country. Homes, hospitals and schools have been destroyed and over 4000 people died.

'It's a hard knock life' in P.5!!!

The children in Primary Five are currently very busy with all the preparations for our Key Stage Two show, 'Annie'.  With everyone participating, there has been plenty of time spent learning words, singing songs, acting, getting measured for costumes and trying to remember the mountain of stage directions from Mr.

Pyjama Day 2015

On Friday 13th March 2015, we raised £188.94 for Stand By Me. The School Council agreed that we should come to school in our pyjamas to raise money for the school we sponsor in Ethiopia. Well done everyone for taking part. You looked fabulous!!

Life in P5!

The children in Year 5 have been exploring the topic of 'Mighty Me' this term. This topic provided lots of opportunities for class visitors and trips.

Carrickfergus Walking Tour

10p Tuesday for Stand by Me

On 30th September, all classes participated in 10p Tuesday to raise money for the school we sponsor in Dembi Dollo, Ethiopia. Lots of 10p's were collected and each class put them in a line in the hall. The class with the longest line got a night off homework! P5 won and were delighted!

European Day of Languages

Primary 5 and 6 would like to say a great big thank you to pupils from Carrickfergus Grammar for coming in to lead French and Spanish lessons on Thursday 25th September to celebrate European Day of Languages.  The children were able to take part in various games to learn the names of French classroom items and Spanish animals.  The competition was fierce in the classrooms with ever

Pyjama Day!

The children in the School Council organised a pyjama day on Friday 23rd May, to raise money for our charity Stand by Me. A total of £240 was raised. Thank you to all who wore their pyjamas and contributed to this worthwhile cause. Well done also to the School Council!!

The Water Bus

A much overdue update of the visit of the Water Bus.  Children in key stage 2 were able to take part in lessons on The Water Bus.  Linking with our new Eco-schools topic the children were able to learn about water and how we use it, waste it and how we can use it most efficiently.  T

Dairy Council

The Dairy Council came and visited our Primary 5 and 6 classes on 5th February.  The children learned about the food and fitness balance and getting 1 hour's activity every day as well as eating the right amount of food from the five food groups.  The children discussed their diet and sport activities and were able to participate in a rap to help them remember what they learned

Life in Primary 5 - Term 1B

Primary 5 having lots of fun during Stone Age Day! We had opportunities to participate in many activities such as dressing up in Mesolithic Clothing, discovering tools and artefacts and creating Mesolithic Pinch Pots.
