The Big Pedal

A massive thank you and congratulations to all who took part in The Big Pedal Challenge today.  Can you believe that over half of our school were able to cycle or scoot to school?  Thank you as well to the 19 parents who cycled to school and those who walked with their children who were taking part in the challenge.

Stand by Me

On Wednesday 23rd March we held a fundraising day for our charity "Stand by Me." The school council agreed that it should be a "Wacky Day!" Children came dressed in a variety of costumes, some had their clothes on back to front and there was a great variety of wacky hairstyles!

Active Superheroes!!!

Congratulations to all 42 children who completed their active superhero challenge sheets over the last few weeks.  Certificates for completed sheets were given to all children and it was great to see the number of active travellers that we have in school.

Stand By Me

Today was a very exciting day for P5, 6 and 7.  Johnny from Stand By Me came into each of our classes.  P5 were able to learn about filtering water in countries where water is not clean like ours.  In other countries some children have to walk miles to get water for their families, others have a pump in their village which they can use and others are provided filter systems li

The Annual Carol Service at Key Stage Two

On Thursday 17th December our annual Christmas Carol Service was held at St. Colman's church for everyone associated with the children in Key StageTwo.

A trip back in time with P.5!

Life in Mesolithic and Neolithic Ireland was very different to ours so rather than simply look at pictures on the Interactive Whiteboard or in books, we got to be archaeologists for a whole day at the end of November so that we could learn more about this period of time! Rita, our visitor , has worked with real archaeologists and she was able to answer lots of questions that we had about what

Water, water everywhere!

Primary 5's topic this term is 'Water' and we enjoyed an informative morning with Jane from NI Water on Tuesday of his week. We explored the Water Cycle together and got to carry out an investigation that showed how waste water from our homes is cleaned.

Welcome to P.5!

Welcome to P.5!

As a new academic year begins it has been lovely to see all of the P.5 children looking refreshed and ready for an exciting year ahead!  We have now settled well into the routines of a new year group and have been getting used to being at the senior end of the school.

Bun Sale

Last week, Primary 6 and 7 (those not away on School Tour) were busy making buns with their classroom assistants.  They then held a bun sale on Friday morning, to raise money for our School Charity, Stand By Me.  The sale was a sell-out success, with all children in the school enjoying a tasty bun at breaktime.  We raised a total of £73.52.

Bike Rides on Brighter Nights

With the brighter evenings of May and June finally here, now is the perfect time for the whole family to get out and about on foot, bike or scooter.  As you know we have been promoting active travel to school over the past year, working with Sustrans. The Sustrans website can provide you with a list of safe cycling and walking routes.
